Steward Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Assist Food & Beverage Captains in all aspects of the dining experience
  • Carry out table and restaurant setup before and during service
  • Ensure the proper set up of all side stations in the outlet, ensures clearance of stations throughout the shift
  • Have knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
  • Have knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous service experience an asset

  • Previous Point of Sale System experience an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team

Work Conditions

  • Comfortable being on their feet throughout the day
  • Occasional lifting of tables, chairs and other items during setup
  • Should be comfortable with night shifts
